The Benefits of Bodywork

Research has shown that stress is a major cause of disease and disfunction in the body. Physical trauma, negative emotions and stress get caught in the body and cause many different types of damage. Massage and energy work help to release these types of stressors that cause dis-ease, and build the immune system against disease, so your body can start and continue it's healing process. You will be able do things again, you thought were no longer possible.

How Our Immune System Works With Massage

Our immune system is the strength in our billions of cells in our body. When viral and bacterial pathogens (dangerous, illness or disease causing cells, usually having entered our body from outside sources; food, air, water) are exposed to your cellular system, it is the strength of your immune system (various protective/fighting cells, and strength of the cell walls) that determines whether this attack will be successfull, and whether the microbe is able to puncture your healthy cell wall, and take it over. If so, it then repeats this in as many neighboring cells as possible, creating the illness or dis-ease. Your white blood cells, and other types of "fighting and protecting" cells,(ie:"T-cells") move in, one group after another, trying to overcome the pathogen cell's attack, and usually are successful, but occasionally miss, because of weakness or dysfunction of the cell/s. Repeated or chronic illnesses over time can eventually lead to a disease. Your stress level, diet, and healthy sleep cycles are a part of the outcome of these attacks. This means massage or bodywork is of great importance in balancing these areas or making up for some that are more neglected. Your diet, however, is your part.

Three things that are cheap compared to medicine, and PREVENT diseases like CANCER? FRESH FRUITS & VEGETABLES (not canned or frozen, and preferably not cooked), VITAMIN C (less than $5! However, quality is good, and you get what you pay for in brands- specialty vitamin stores, have better quality vitamins than a super discount store.) EXERCISE with FRESH OXEGEN, by exercising or at least being outdoors, minimum of 20-30 minutes a day, 3-5 days per week is best, but anything helps.
